Lisa Fong, perfumer

Lisa Fong's interest in Natural Perfumery began on July 25, 2002, at a class with Mandy Aftel. The introduction to natural fragrance materials was a turning point, the beginning of an all-enveloping passion for the creation of natural perfume. Prior to this fateful date, Ms. Fong was an accomplished violinist, performing with Bay Area orchestras and musical groups. Her career was cut short by disability. She is the mother of three children, all born within the space of five years. She studied Mathematics at Mills College and later at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Mathematics. She spent seven years studying Flamenco dance, did actuarial work for MetLife, and traveled to China to meet her beloved husband, Randy. She currently resides in Oakland California with her family, her pet pig Daisy, and three backyard chickens.
